As a core member of Perx’s executive team, the Head of Product Engineering will lead the end-to-end technology and product roadmap. You will ensure strategic alignment, drive innovation, and address existing technical debt while simultaneously building capabilities for future AI-driven enhancements. This role demands hands-on engagement, strong technical review skills, and a proactive approach to platform optimization and stability.

What’s the role?

Engineering & Product Leadership

• Lead a combined product and engineering team to deliver transformative SaaS solutions aligned with Perx’s mission.
• Establish a clear technology vision emphasizing scalable architecture, operational excellence, and efficient DevOps practices.
• Hands-on involvement in code reviews, technical guidance, and platform architecture decisions to maintain quality and reduce technical debt.
• Leverage advanced AI techniques and data analytics to develop innovative solutions and enhance productivity, efficiency, and optimization across product offerings.

Technology Strategy & Execution

• Implement agile methodologies to accelerate product delivery and continuous improvement while ensuring security and compliance.
• Lead efforts to optimize and modernize Perx’s current platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and seamless integration capabilities.
• Proactively address and reduce technical debt, balancing this with parallel innovation initiatives.
• Drive organizational adoption of AI tools and processes, promoting modern practices and enhancing competitive advantage.

Transformational Leadership

• Foster an innovative and collaborative engineering culture, empowering teams to excel and take ownership of outcomes.
• Communicate complex technical strategies to stakeholders, securing buy-in and alignment across Perx’s leadership and teams.

Customer & Product-Centric Approach

• Act as the advocate for customers, translating enterprise needs into actionable product strategies and solutions.
• Develop AI-enabled products and features that significantly elevate enterprise user engagement, satisfaction, and productivity.
• Champion a product management discipline focused on rapid feedback loops, iteration, and deep understanding of enterprise software needs.

Who are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Certifications in Agile, DevOps, cloud architecture, AI, or related technical disciplines are advantageous.
• At least 8 years of experience in engineering leadership, with clear progression into product-centric and AI-driven roles.
• Demonstrable success managing substantial digital transformation and modernization projects within enterprise SaaS environments.
• Deep hands-on experience in enterprise architecture, SaaS platform scaling, cloud services, APIs, cybersecurity, and mobile application ecosystems.
• Proven track record managing global, distributed engineering and product teams, demonstrating strong collaborative and cultural leadership.
• Proficiency in a wide range of programming languages, especially in Ruby on Rails, React, Angular, and Flutter.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, quality assurance, and code review processes.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in and outside of Perx.
